Most people make a new year goal. The problem is one year is simply too long of a time. So we tend to procrastinate. Throughout a year their will be plenty of obstacles to overcome that may get us distracted from that goal. The way we can prevent from falling into this trap is by focusing on one quarter at a time. It’s important to celebrate small victories, setting quarterly goals will give you the endurance to make it through the entire year without burnout or being discouraged. Each quarter may not be great as others buts it’s ultimately about progression. 2018 was the first year I wrote out my list of goals and I’m thankful to say that all of my goals where accomplished. Let’s be clear just writing your goals will not get them achieved. You’re going to have to apply consistency with discipline. Discipline is ignoring current pleasure for bigger rewards to come. It’s loving yourself enough to give yourself everything you deserve.
So here are a few steps you can follow to reach your goals in 2019
- Write it down (What’s your goal and why is it important to you)
- Make it specific ( What is your plan to achieve the goal)
- Set a deadline ( I will lose 10 lbs by X date)
- Make them action-oriented ( have a plan of attack to make each goal become reality)
Once you have your list, prioritize the order, create dates and put them on your calendar.
My hope for you in 2019 is that you take action. It’s not about being perfect. rather it’s about moving forward on the things that matter to you. It’s about making progress and being better than you were yesterday. All the successful people I’ve ever been blessed to meet or become friends with know where they are going in life and what their ultimate goals are. They have a inner vision that they live by, and it’s time for you to get yours or take yours to another level.
I’m wishing everyone a blessed year in 2019!!!
